About the Curriculum

Attention: We have been informed that some of the links within the curriculum that direct to videos, games, and activities on other websites are no longer active. Unfortunately fixing this issue is out of our control. We understand this is a frustrating problem and we are sorry. This website is no longer being updated but we hope it is still useful for families. In response to this issue we are changing the price of all materials so that everyone can get everything for free and do not require a donation.

Thank you.

What is Little House Kindergarten?

Little House Kindergarten is a free curriculum for Kindergarteners and advanced Preschoolers. We gather free resources that can be found on multiple educational websites online, and flesh these resources out into a full 180 day curriculum. We also provide workbooks for every unit. The workbooks are in a printable PDF format and provide your student with daily writing practice in multiple subjects.

How are you able to offer this curriculum and extra resources for free?
Β You can read about how our Little House users help to provide free curriculum to anyone who needs it at this page.

Why did you make this curriculum?
We believe that homeschooling should be something that is accessible to all families. There are many families that have to stress about finding quality educational resources that fit within their budgets. Homeschool curriculum can be incredibly expensive, and many children don’t respond well to the pricey curriculum options after their parents have purchased them. There are so many fantastic free homeschool resources available on facebook groups, pinterest boards, and just by using google- but it is time consuming and difficult for parents to cobble all of these resources together in a full usable curriculum while trying to keep up with their busy schedules.
We are happy to put this curriculum together for any family that is interested, free of charge.

Is the curriculum Common Core Aligned?
No, we are not Common Core Aligned or Associated.

Will you be offering more grades?

YES! We hope to make this a full K-12 curriculum as quickly as we can.Β  The next grades that will be released are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade on Little House 123.

    1. It is a blessing to find this! I want to home school my kindergartener but was at a lost as to what to use. I needed something on a budget. Thanks for all your hard work! I hope to donate soon!

    1. Elizabeth,
I’m hoping to make this a full K-12 curriculum. 1st and 2nd grade is next and we are hoping to get those grades done by the start of the new school year (somewhere in August).
Thank you for your interest, and taking the time to leave a comment!

    1. Yes! I’m working on 1st-3rd grade right now. I’m trying to build this up to a full K-12 as fast as I can. I’ll be sure to email you when 3rd grade is ready.

  1. Thank you so much for providing this free curriculum. I will be starting with my 4 yr old very soon. And more grades to come…awesome!

  2. This is wonderful! Thank you for providing this curriculum…what a blessing! My 4 yr old is loving it so far. Do you know when the blue, orange, and purple units will be posted?

    1. Karen,
Those units will be posted in the next few weeks. I’m currently making better versions of the workbooks, and those will be posted along with the rest of the curriculum. I’m glad your 4 year old is enjoying it!

  3. I am just going to sign up! So excited I found you. I have been looking for the right kindergarten curriculum to finally start my advanced preschooler on! Yay!! πŸ™‚

  4. This is going to be so wonderful for my youngest. Will you please email me the future grades when you get them finished? You have no idea how helpful this is going to be for our family. I am about to send my older daughter back to public school but I think this may save us when the higher grades are completed. You have no idea how much this will help us. Thank you!

    1. I am so happy to hear that!
I will add you to our email list so that you can be informed of when higher grades become available.
      Enjoy πŸ™‚

  5. This is wonderful! It will be perfect for my new preschooler! We just started with tracing letters & remembering sounds. She will love this! How do I get added to the list to be notified when the higher grade levels become available?

    1. Stephanie,
      Good to hear!
I will add you to the email list. If you like our Facebook page- you will also be notified there.

  6. Just got the kindergarten workbooks. Planning to start them for my almost 5 year old next week. We printed out the First Uint and she is so excited.

Do you have timeline as to when 1-3 grades might be available? I have older kids going in to 2 and 3rd grade next year and would love to one curriculum for all of them.

    1. We hope to have 1st-3rd grade available by December if we can get it all together by then. Then if time allows, we are hoping for 4th and 5th grade to be available by the Summer of 2016.
I’m happy to hear that your 5 year old is excited about starting the first unit!

  7. Love this. I have all books printed out and ready to go. My son loves doing homeschool so I think he’ll fly by with these. I think its going to challenge him too, which I like. Thanks so much can’t wait to see what your other curriculum looks like.

  8. Oh Hannie this is absolutely wonderful! I have been planning to homeschool for quite some time, but like the website shared, the research is crazy overwhelming! I’m so grateful that you all decided to create this curriculum for FREE! My son is almost 18 months and review with him a lot over the basic education concepts but I’m so happy to have this curriculum to continue to review slowly with him more concepts and then to really dig into the curriculum as he gets older. God bless you all for really taking the needs of parents into consideration who want to provide and teach the best and quality education that they can on a affordable budget. This really means so much to me!

    1. I appreciate this sweet message. πŸ™‚
I hope that this is useful to your family, and to many other families as well.

  9. Hi! My husband I just decided to start this with our 4 year old and 2 year old. I’m also going to be doing it with a 3 year old cousin of ours that I babysit for. This looks like it should be tons of fun! I really appreciate how simple and concise it is. It doesn’t look too complicated. I struggle with follow through and I really think that this is something I’m capable of doing with my children and I appreciate that it’s available.
    Thank you.

  10. Hi Hannie! I just found this website and it is absolutely wonderful!!! My family will begin homeschooling this year for the first time!!! I have a 1 year old, a 5 year old, and a 11 year old. I know you plan on making this a k-12 site, but in the mean time do you have any ideas where I could find free or low cost all in one curriculum for my 6th grader? Similar to what you have here for kindergarteners?

    1. Melissa,
There are some free options available for your 6th grader online. Probably the closest thing to what we provide that I know of is Easy Peasy All In One, it’s a Christian curriculum with clickable links similar to what we have for Kindergarten.
Two other options that I know of that are less computer based are Old Fashioned Education (also Christian) and Ambleside (Charlotte Mason, and I believe it’s also Christian but I’m not 100% sure about that one).
Your 6th grader might also enjoy our Virtual Field Trips for a supplemental tool. If you email me at littlehousewebsite@gmail.com I can help to lead you through creating your own curriculum for your 6th grader using free resources online if that would be something you’re interested in.
Best of luck with your homeschooling adventure!

  11. Hi! I am printing off my work books in preparation for Kindergarten this year. I am seeing sight word flash cards mentioned, but I don’t see a link to purchase the flash cards. Did I miss something? Thanks,

    1. Nicole,
When you get to the sight words in the curriculum there will be a link to a website with free flashcards for you to print off, it’s the same website where the sight word games are found. Hope that helps πŸ™‚
